Heat Transfer and Fluid Flow Laboratory (Prof. Kenya Kuwagi)

Heat transfer and fluid flow within energy plants, for example, a thermal power plant, and environmental facilities, such as a waste incineration plant, are studied in our laboratory.

We study heat and gas-solid two-phase flows to solve energy and environmental problems. The gas-solid two-phase flows appear in many industrial processes such as thermal power plant production, waste incineration, petroleum refining, petrochemical processes, and pharmaceutical processing. Our research objective is to obtain useful results for a new system by analyzing such phenomena with a numerical simulation and/or a visualization experiment.
