Improving material properties and productivity using shot peening

Shot peening is a plastic deformation method and is used to improve the fatigue strength and surface reforming of materials. The chemical property of a material is changed by plastic deformation. This phenomenon is called mechanochemical effect. An example of the mechanochemical effect is the locally promoted oxidation phase observed in shot-peened materials. We study the influence of the mechanochemical effect on the improvement of material recycling.
